Welcome to Drug & Alcohol Family Support Network

Family Support:

Supporting a loved one who has a drug or alcohol problem; friends, partners and family members can sacrifice their own needs and wellbeing and focus all of their energy upon the person they think needs help most.

In many cases family members don't realise that THEY need help too.

Family support provides an opportunity for those living with, or affected by, the drug or alcohol use of someone close to them to meet others in similar situations and receive support...Show/hide more

A family support group is a confidential, safe and accepting place where adults come together to share experiences, get access to information and take time out to care for themselves.. Family support groups are run by members themselves, supported by relevant agencies.

The family support network recognises that family members' needs are often not identified, even though they live with the problem of drug or alcohol misuse on a daily basis.  The network works to ensure appropriate supports are in place for the family to help them improve the quality of their lives.
